Maureen FitzSimons' early achievements in the performing arts (now called Maureen O'Hara), would have placed her, according to American standards, in the class of child prodigies. This is a natural characteristic for a girl of Irish descent, who was surrounded in her early years by talented family members and parents. Maureen came to this loving refuge on the 17th of August 1920. She was raised by her parents and family members. Marguerita FitzSimons was an accomplished contralto. Charles FitzSimons was a successful businessman from Dublin who also controlled a portion of the Irish Shamrock Rovers soccer team. Maureen FitzSimons was the second daughter of Charles FitzSimons. Peggy FitzSimons, Florrie Fitzsimons Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons completed this amazing family. Maureen was a fan of rough and sports as a kid and was a pro in athletics. Her ability to perform was the perfect match for her passion for sports. This was apparent when she won every Feis in drama and theatre which Ireland could provide. By age 14 she was invited into the world-renowned Abbey Theater and pursued her goal of performing in classical theatre and operatic singing.
