Alexandra Raisman

Aly Raisman was a U.S. Olympic captain for the team that has won gold medals in 2012. Aly has won seven Olympic medals, and two World Championships gold medals. The native of Needham, Massachusetts, Aly's love for the sport is traced to a "mommy & me" gymnastics class she took as a baby of 18 months. Aly Raisman is a defender for body positivity and is an exemplary leader on and off the ground, and also spoke against Larry Nassar during his sentencing hearing. Aly Raisman was born in 1994, and started her gymnastics career at a very young age. She played a role in helping the U.S. Gymnastics Team win the 2011 World Championships. The American gymnast won two gold medals in 2012 in the London Summer Olympics, one for the team, and one for floor exercises. Raisman took silver both in the individual and floor finals of the 2016 Olympics at Rio. Also, she took home the gold medal from the team gymnastics contest. Raisman came to a shocking conclusion in 2017. She was assaulted sexually at the hands of former team physician Larry Nassar. In the time that followed, Raisman sued USA Gymnastics.
